Ota Weinberger’s conception of democracy: reconstructing an unexplored political theory

Ota Weinberger was a Czech-Austrian jurist, whose core academic work on issues of democracy mostly published in the 1990s. In his writings, he focused primarily legal philosophy from positivist perspective. However, there are also significant overlaps with field political theory as examined conditions for functioning contemporary democracies. this paper, some main features conception so-called “structured democracy” clarified. The opposed several other democratic theories, especially elitist (Schumpeterian), majoritarian, but discursive one, represented by Jürgen Habermas, whom fundamentally disagreed. paper focuses key elements theory, such leading ideas, role institutions, open society, and critique marketing methods politics.
